Vicuña Trap

Vicuña Trap loading

Dating back to the time of the Inca, traps like these were used to trap Vicuña (the wild ancestor of domesticated Alpacas). Teams of men would drive the animals over the ridge, into these pens, where others waited. They would then throw Bolas, a weapon made of a chord tied to two weights, which would wrap around the legs of the vinuña, immobilizing them.
