Copán Stela A loading

One of Copán's most celebrated monuments, Stela A was dedicated in A.D. 731 under the ruler Waxaklajun Ubaah K'awiil. The intricate carving portrays the king surrounded by solar imagery, reflecting his sacred role in maintaining harmony between the heavens, the earth, and the cosmic forces of the Maya universe.
