Inkilltambo Colca Food Storage

The Inca constructed colcas (food storage facilities) throughout their empire, to help supply their workforce and prepare for times of scarcity. This colca at Inkilltambo in Cusco is particularly well preserved, with ventilation holes to help keep stored food cool and dry.
