Often found in conjunection with the Nazca Lines is ritually smashed pottery. These ceramics were often more elaborately painted than their typical houseware. It is believed that these were intentionally broken as offerings to their deities, which is a practice that continued with the subsequent Wari culture that eventually conquered the Nazca region.
